Healing Spices #foodiefriday

Hey you guys, I thought I'd continue with yesterdays theme~ Today I'll do a post on how to incorporate spices into your diet that fight inflammation and tons more. Some you may know but I think some will surprise you~:)

1. This is one you may now but turmeric/curcumin. Turmeric has NUMEROUS studies showing it's healing benefits for cancer-, and reducing inflammation which is SO important.
Ways to use it: Great on Avocado Toast, On fish, Stir Fries, Salads
*You can also take it in pill from, if you suffering from any kind of inflammation related illness I definitely recommend it.
If your interested in purchasing turmeric here are two links:
Here is the powder form.
Here is the pill form.
(Cupon Code: Free Shipping on all orders+$5 off: RQANXY) *** Applies to all the links below***
(Also it's $5 off $25 I believe:)

2. The second is SUPER popular, but cinnamon. Cinnamon not only tastes amazing but is great for balancing blood sugar. You don't need to have hypo/hyperglycemia to have blood sugar issues. A lot of cravings and mindless eating comes from low blood sugar. With stable blood sugar you will find you are much more mindful when you eat. It is also said to boost metabolism, but I have not found any valid science on that. You get a lot more benefits when you buy high quality cinnamon like the one below but definitely that's not the only one or anything!:)
It is so much cheaper to buy it in bulk(cuz I Know a lot of ya'll use a lot of cinnamon:)

-Cool Info Graphic-

Here is that link. - can you use coupon above.

3. The last one I will share for today is ginger root. Ginger is SO healing to the GI tract and helps reduce bloating. So if you are having issues when you eat then definitely try adding some high quality ginger root on your food.
Link here.
Super good uses: In baking, Salads, Stir Fries, Juices, Smoothies

Get powder here.
Get pills here if your having GI issues.
Don't forget coupon if your getting them:)

I'll definitely do a second post on this, because these are super helpful little tricks and I have other tricks to get these in your diet that I don't have time for today! Ps. You definitely don't have to use my links I just add them cuz it's some of the cheapest(with $0 shipping and cupon) that I have found or I like the quality/brand:)

Have a great day and how do you like to use the above spices:)???

5 Ways to Detox Naturally Everyday and what makes Cleanses so good (read first)...

Hey you guys today I come at ya with a post about detox. Detox is such a buzz word these days with a new "clease" coming out every other day. I do not believe in cleanses or anything like that. A lot of the time they are short starvation diets.
What makes cleanses so good is not what you are eating, but what you are not eating. In other words, you can get the probably get the same results as far as "detox" goes eating a whole food vegan diet with enough food and make is sustainable vs. going on and off a starvation diet leaving you with a bad mindset. Okay, rant over:)
But you can work with your body to help it detox naturally. A lot of people don't even realize this, but it's your liver that helps you detox so your better off helping your body be more efficient and let it do what it's designed to do. The other thing is  your not actually detoxing if nothing is coming out of you(I.e. going to the bathroom, sweating, etc.).

5 way to detox naturally:

1. Eat a whole foods vegan diet (or as close as possible to do with a healthy balanced mindset, see below).  Kind of like I mentioned earlier, but you can't really detox if you keep putting "crap" in it. Chemicals, Toxins, Animal Products and Byproducts all aren't gonna help. If you can't keep a balanced mindset like I talk about below then eat fun foods in moderations, which I think is best. Balance, Just eat fun foods consciously and let them add to your life and your health.

2.  Healthy Mindset...OhmyGosh this is SO important, no one truly realizes how key the mind and body connection is. In fact, did you know a ton of digestive disorder such as IBS are caused by stress. I truly believe good health will be very hard without working on yourself... talking, mediating, therapy if needed, nature, etc.

3. Dry Brush.. It's this tan brush( I will put the link below) you basically just brush your body with it before showers. Your skin is your largest organ so this is super beneficial. It helps remove crap from the skin, also great for cellulite (I will also link a very detailed post below for you).

Information on dry brushing click here.
Buy a dry brush click here.

4. Inversions. You hear about this a lot in yoga. You stand on your feet all day, switching the direction of the blood flow is very helpful.... Some ways to do it... Feet on the wall, shoulder stand, handstand, plow, headstand and if you really like it they have inversion tables which are amazing, but expensive, very popular in the detox circles.

5. Last but not least is rebounding. It looks a like a mini trampoline. It's SO good for the lymphatic system and getting everything moving. You can do it as a light workout or how I like to do it get up and jump 100x to get everything going. Here is where you can get it and more information (highly recommend!)

There are a few more tips that I didn't have time for today, if you want to know more let me know and let me know what you think.

As always have  a great today. Oh,.and for more cool stuff  follow me on instagram if you like here.

Have  a wonderful day~

Cheesy Vegan Cinnamon Bean Dip. #strangebutreallygood

Here is an awesome recipe. Great post workout. High protein: Feed muscles. Filling: So you don't binge cuz your starving after leg day. Love this so much.

Cheesy Cinnamon Bean Dip:
-1c Beans. (Fiber, Resistant Starch, Protein)
-1/4-1/2c Nutritional Yeast (B12, Protein)
-Cinnamon (just a dash or it will be weird tasting) (Blood Sugar Balance)
-Flax Seeds (Digestion, Omega 3's) (If you are using this recipe after lifting just use a little flax cuz you don't want to much fat in your post workout meal so that can be changed:) ~Also I linked it to sprouted flax cuz that's easier to digest but you can use regular~

Five Easy Things to Help your Health( that's not overwhelming!)

In today's world health is so confusing (why I started my blog) I meet SO MANY people who just quit cuz it's like there's so much conflicting information...vegan vs. paleo, high fat low fat, high carb low carb, blah blah blah lol...

Here are Five things you can do to help your health that are easy:):

1. Forget the rules. Seriously you know what whole foods are. Eat them :) ENOUGH of them forget the dogma around things. Carbs aren't bad, fats aren't bad your body needs it all. Listen to YOUR body.

2. Supplement with a Green Powder...So short science thing... Your body can be alkaline or acidic. Acidity is where disease lies(don't get to hung up tho). Greens are the most alkaline food and in today's society you just can't get enough. Honestly, your cravings and energy will be much benefited by them I'm not even kidding.
Here are the top brands in my opinion in different price ranges but you do get what you pay for most of the time it's worth it.
Healthforce, Ormus Greens, Amazing Grass

You can get free shipping and $5 off to(PureFormulas LOVE them lol...So cheap!). Code: RQANXY

3. Stretch.. Seriously. I know everyone hates it, but think about it if your range of motion is limited when your older and your joint health is already declining think about how little you'll be able to do if your already limited. You wanna kick butt as long as possible. It doesn't take long. Here's some good routines:: Here

4.. Affirmations. Seriously, Honestly I wish this was number one. You can have energy perfect health, everything but if you don't like yourself and feel hopeless about your future your not gonna be happy.

Here is a guide on how to do them without feeling ridiculous but they will be awkward at first but keep going!

5. Eat enough (good) food.. Honestly, if you are not eating all the nutrients you need your not gonna feel good. I don't care what your eating. Today looks are "everything" but to me having energy, freedom and life is everything.

GREAT resource for metabolism information and nutrition here.

Well there you go. Hope that helps!:)

What are your top tips?

Juicing.?

So I wanted to make a post on one of my favorite but things: juice. No not odwalla but fresh veggie juice yummers(if made right). But I also want to address something I’m seeing come up on the blogosphere. Juicing is not a cure all. Not to be made into a weight loss new diet fad. It’s about  juicing for how much you love the taste and the way it makes you feel. Yes juice is extremely healthy one of the best things you can do but don’t juice because it’s the new “health” craze. Do it because you FEEL the healthy! So hold off before you juice fast Im beginning to feel like beloved juice is just another way to lose weight, fall into an eating disorder, or that horrible restrictive mindset. I'll do a post on why science shows you shouldn't do a cleanse like that (With the exception of medical purposes). Don’t restrict. Enjoy. Use juicing don’t let it dominate you. Juicing is so brilliant. Without further ado here are my favorite recipes by far:

Brocco-brilliance:

2-3 broccoli stems

1/2-1 Celery

1/2-1 Fennel

Spinach

Zucchini

Bit Stevia. :) would be so brilliant with a little mint extract too;).

Yum!!!!

Green roots:

3-5 carrotts

Spinach

Zucchini

Romiane.

Bit Stevia. Would be brilliant with a little cinnamon.

Yum! And totally Dr.Norman walker approved (check out his brilliant books!). The reason I use zucchini is it adds a lovely creaminess to it!

Benefits:

- Helps immensely with digestion

- Hits the bloodstream seamlessly

-TONS of vitamins and minerals

-Helps cravings
-Easy way to get veggies in
Don't juice a ton of fruit that's just a little to quick for the sugar to hit the bloodstream. 'Juice the veggies, Eat the Fruit.' :)

With Healthy Fat, Fiber and Carb makes an AMAZING meal!

What’s your favorite juice?

On a side note, what would you like to see on the blog?

With Love <3

To eat or not to eat... Beans. + Tips

Hey ya'll so today my focus is on beans.

Fruit eaters say no.Raw fooders say no.  Paleo says no. But a lot of nutritarians and long term vegans so they are crucial here are my thoughts.:)

Yes, Beans of phytates and sometimes can be hard on digestion due to the combination of protein and carbs in one food (yes, They have carbs :0 LOL).

BUT.. Despite this I truly believe they are a GREAT food.  There is no science baking the elimination of beans all science leads to it being a positive health benefits. I always go by science.

Here are the top reason people eliminate beans:

1. Phytates: First, these are not as bad as they are made out to be.
Here is my FAVORITE naturopath speaking on that:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pFjK5_ecqk

Tips: for reducing them are one: Cook your beans in seaweed + you get the benefits of the iodine in seaweed. If this is to much time look into purchasing this brand (Eden Organics). Little more pricey, but you can use this code (RQANXY ) with free shipping plus your digestion and health will thank you.

2. Carbs. Ugh, this just makes me plain sad. YOU NEED CARBS. Your body runs on them. Just cuz on animal protein is low carb doesn't make it better (I'm not bashing this here simply saying science backs plant protein) besides beans are high in resistant starch which isn't even absorbed in the gut and leads to better digestion.
-Studies on resistant starch here.
-Naturopath on side effects of high protein and benefits of plant protein here. ( Not to fear food to help you feel better if this triggers you simply do not watch. This to elevate you not make you feel worse:)

3. Your a raw foodist or paleo. I'll keep this short there is no science baking the elimination of beans. IN FACT, they help reduce sugar or meat and keep a BALANCED diet. I've also found they help reduce cravings. Boom.
Dr. Furhman on Beans here.

So there is all the science:)

Here are the health benefits:::
Protein, Zinc, Resistant starch, soluble fiber, Heart health and more.

So how to incorporate them:
Here are my favorite recipes from around the web:::
-Black Bean Brownies ..Yum:)
- Pizza Hummus.
-Chickapea Fritters

So there ya go. Enjoy;)!!!
